My Powerchair/Scooter won’t turn on. | Push the reset button. If it still doesn’t turn on, check the condition of the batteries and the battery fuses located in line with the battery cables. Remove the seat and shroud to access the batteries and in-line fuses. Check all cables and wiring for loose or disconnected connectors and frayed or damaged wires. Replace fuses if necessary. |
I just received my new Powerchair/Scooter and it won’t turn on. | The battery connectors are shipped disconnected. Remove the seat and shroud to access the batteries. Connect the two black connectors and the two red connectors. If it still doesn't power on, push the reset button and turn the powerchair/scooter on again. Ensure it's fully charged before first use. |
When I plug my Charger in I get a red flashing light. | A steady red light indicates an abnormality with the charging system. Check battery cables for secure connections, replace blown fuses, and check the reset button. If the issue persists, consult your provider. |
My batteries lose their charge rapidly after charging. | The batteries may have damaged cells or bad connections. Load tests the batteries with an automotive-style load tester (12 volts) to check for voltage drops under load. If the tester shows a reduction of more than one volt under load, replace the batteries. A deep cycle battery tester can more accurately test the battery's capacity. |
My Powerchair joystick controller flashes 9 light bars and will not move. | This is a 9-light fault code indicating that the freewheel lever(s) are not in the drive position. Ensure each lever (left and right) is in the drive position. If the Powerchair has an onboard charger and the A/C cord is connected, a 9-light fault code will be activated. Consult the Powerchair User Manual for more information. |
My Powerchair joystick controller just flashes lights when I turn it on.
|
The joystick controller has detected a problem, indicated by flashing lights and possibly a warning beep. Each number of light bars (1 through 10) represents a different fault code. DO NOT drive the Powerchair with a fault code. Consult the Powerchair User Manual for more information. |
When I turn my Powerchair on it beeps steadily and there is no movement after that, why? | This indicates a detected problem. Flashing light bars on the joystick controller represent different fault codes. DO NOT drive the Powerchair with a fault code. Consult the Powerchair User Manual for more information. |
My Scooter lights up/horn works when I turn it on but it doesn’t move. | Check the freewheel lever to confirm it is in the drive position (lever down). Turn the Scooter off and back on after putting the lever in the drive position. |
My Powerchair joystick controller lights ripple up and down a few times then shut off. Why does this happen? | This means the joystick controller is locked to prevent unauthorized use. The lock can be set inadvertently. Unlock the joystick through a sequence of key presses and joystick movements. Consult the Powerchair User Manual for more information on locking and unlocking the joystick controller. |
